Torsional loading

There is no specific torsional/torque loading possible in Femdesigner and it isn't a priority to add it either because mathematically exact tangential loading is impossible to apply in reality. Think of a tap or valve and you see that you need lugs, slots, levers, flats, gears or frictional contact to actually apply approximate torque loading; for which you could use distributed loads. The most you can do with a mathematical, distributed torque load is to simulate the effect of the missing part of a body that actually creates the torque. However it is far better to just model that part, or add simple lugs or levers to the model where you can apply a couple; Force x distance = Torque. At a certain distance away from the load point, the effect will be exactly the same.
